MSPRA 2008 Conference -
November 13-14
Kalamazoo, Radisson

This year’s event will feature International Speaker, Author, and Education Futurist, Dr. Yong Zhao. Dr. Zhao is a Michigan State University Distinguished Professor of Education and Director of The US-China Center for Research on Educational Excellence and Confucius Institute. He is a dynamite speaker winning rave reviews from his audiences including superintendents state-wide. He will be speaking on the implications of globalization on education and what it means to the future of education. Learn more about Dr. Zhao.

Based on last year’s feedback, the MSPRA Conference Planning Committee has added even more breakout sessions. A grand total of 30 critical topics will be covered!

A complimentary pre-conference and continental breakfast will be served to those who want an 8:00 a.m. start on Thursday. The pre-conference will involve a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour of the Kalamazoo Promise, one of the most exciting redevelopment ideas in Michigan.

For participant convenience, the conference will officially begin at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Zhao’s keynote. A second keynote on Friday morning will be delivered by Casandra E. Ulbrich, State Board of Education member and
Senior Director of Development at Wayne State University. Ms. Ulbrich will share a leader’s perspective on public education and provide tips and insights to make our work as school communicators more effective. Learn more about Ms. Ulbrich.

We will end our time on Friday with popular “speed dating sessions” which allow members to gain quick insights and information about the topics that interest them the most.

And finally, come to Kalamazoo to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of MSPRA! We will be honoring the work of all of our MSPRA members and looking ahead to our next 30 years.

Be sure to take advantage of the early bird savings by registering before October 1, 2008.
